Northland to northern Taranaki, including Coromandel and Bay of Plenty
Showers, some heavy and possibly thundery in the west this morning, easing during the afternoon and clearing in the evening. Gale southwesterlies in exposed places, easing in the evening.

Southern Taranaki and Taihape to Kapiti
Showers, possibly thundery in the west this morning with snow to 600 metres, clearing during evening.

Gisborne to Wellington
Gale southerlies and widespread showers spreading north during the morning, some heavy with afternoon thunderstorms possible north of Napier.

Nelson and Buller to Fiordland
Rain, possibly thundery north of Hokitika, clearing this morning.

Marlborough and Canterbury
Showers, with snow to 300 metres, clearing this evening.

Southland and Otago
Rain, with snow to 200 metres, clearing this afternoon.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods, showers developing this afternoon.
