Northland
Showers, some heavy with a few thunderstorms, easing this evening.

In the west from Auckland to Wellington, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty and the central high country and Wairarapa
Periods of rain, some heavy with thunderstorms, easing to showers early morning, but clearing Coromandel Peninsula and Bay of Plenty.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Marlborough
Mainly fine, but a few early morning showers.

Nelson and Buller
Periods of rain or showers, with thunderstorms mainly in the west, easing early morning but clearing Nelson for a time.

Westland and Fiordland
Rain, with some heavy and thundery falls, easing early morning.

Canterbury, Otago, Southland
A period of scattered rain overnight and in the morning, with snow above 900 metres. Otherwise, fine apart from areas of low cloud or fog.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods and a few showers.
