Forecast in Brief for Friday the 18th May 2018



Northland, Auckland and Coromandel Peninsula
A few showers, clearing tomorrow.

Waikato to Kapiti Coast, including the central high country
A few showers, easing this afternoon, but returning tomorrow. Showers becoming frequent tomorrow night from Manawatu to Kapiti.

Bay of Plenty
Remaining showers clearing this afternoon and becoming fine.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Fine today. Some high cloud tomorrow.

Wellington and Wairarapa
Fine today. Isolated showers tomorrow, turning to rain at night.

Marlborough and Nelson
Cloudy periods. Scattered rain tomorrow, becoming widespread with heavy falls about Nelson and Marlborough Sounds later.

Buller to Fiordland
Rain spreading north today, with some heavy and thundery falls possible. Rain becoming heavy about Buller tomorrow, but easing to a few showers elsewhere.

Canterbury to Southland
Fine apart from a few showers about coastal Southland.

Chatham Islands
Fine spells. The odd shower until evening.
