Clear Skies not Going to Last: Forecast- 24th August 2015
« on: August 24, 2015, 12:24:57 PM »
Enjoy the drier weather today as rain is on its way back across all of New Zealand.

From the Metservice:
A complex trough is moving on to the South Island today, preceded by strong northerlies and rain, then followed by a cooler southerly change. This trough is expected to move northeast over the South Island today and early Tuesday, then the North Island during Tuesday and early Wednesday. Rain is expected for many parts of the country with the passage of this trough, especially about western areas. The heaviest falls are expected about Mount Taranaki and the Tararua Range, where 100 to 140mm may fall about higher parts of Mt Taranaki, and 80 to 120mm about the Tararua Range.
