And Game 8 and we have Zimbabwe ranked 10th & the United Arab Emirates.
This is a Day game and another for Saxton Oval at Nelson, with no apparent weather worries.

The UAE side gained entry through a qualifying tournament for 2nd tier nations.

In warm up matches Zimbabwe proved tricky giving our Black Caps a tickle up at Lincoln before the game was rained off.
They then comfortably beat Sri Lanka at the same ground.
In previous games they have had only limited success on a tour of Bangladesh & a triangular tournament at home.
The UAE were thumped by Australia & then lost narrowly to Afghanistan.

Another very interesting game, hard to pick, but Zimbabwe should be too strong.

RESULT

A very close game, nothing in it really!
Zimbabwe one the toss & decided to bowl.
Most UAE batsmen got a start, and Anwar made a half century with 67 at a good clip.
They survived through to the last over & scored 285 for 7 down.

The Zimbabwe innings was very similar, most getting a start & one half century with Williams not out on 76.
They reached the target in the 48th over with 6 down..

So a win to Zimbabwe by 4 wickets, & non cricket types should try to work that one out!!   
I guess the difference was that Zimbabwe scored at a slightly better run rate overall.
