Waikato to Whanganui, including Bay of Plenty, Taupo and Taihape
Mainly fine. Isolated showers clearing before dawn, and returning in the afternoon and evening.

Gisborne to Wairarapa
Cloudy periods and isolated showers.

Manawatu to Wellington
Mostly fine. Low cloud about Wellington's south coast at times.

Eastern coast of the South Island
Mostly cloudy with patchy mist and drizzle, but fine spells in the afternoon.

The rest of the South Island
Mostly fine, but showers about the ranges clearing before dawn, then returning in the afternoon and evening with possible thunderstorms.

Chatham Islands
Occasional drizzle with mist at times.
