Nelson and Marlborough
Cloud increasing and scattered rain developing this evening.

Buller to Fiordland
Rain spreading north this morning, with some heavy falls. Easing to a few showers in Fiordland this afternoon and in Westland this evening.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Scattered light rain clearing this morning, then fine apart from isolated showers about the east coast. Scattered rain returning north of Ashburton this evening. Northwest gales inland this morning.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods.
