It's been a fine sunny morning, though a bone chilling wind for the Port Robinson /Trees for Canterbury planting day. We hosted the after match barbecue. It has clouded over now, but remaining reasonably fine.

The day started out with blue sky and sun but now Jenny's clouds have reached out and blocked our sun too.

In the Waitakeres, wind is increasing now, expecting it to get quite "breezy" these next few days, rain with it too.

Currently 11.5°C in Waitakere, sky is as pretty uniform grey overcast but not raining, it's blowing a fair bit - glad I'm not at the top of the hill.

Not quite as bad as Ashburton, but a cold bleak 5.5°C here.
Overnight temp of 2°C
This first week of July have seen the coldest over night lows I have on record for July
