A weak front brings some morning cloud to western parts of the North Island today with the chance of a shower, sunny areas increase in the afternoon. For the South Island expect sunny warm weather in the east, some cloud in the west with showers about Fiordland.

Auckland
Chance of an early shower then cloud breaking up towards midday. Sunny spells in the afternoon with southwest breezes.
High: 19

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
A few brief morning showers then clearing, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Southwesterly breezes. About the Bay Of Plenty showers may stay away in the morning and it will just be a case of morning cloud clearing away.

Eastern North Island
Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, light southerlies at first tend northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island
Morning cloud clears to a mostly sunny day, westerly winds. About northern Taranaki expect morning cloud breaking to sunny spells, winds from the southwest.
High: 17-18

Wellington
Becoming sunny in the morning, light southerlies early on die out then northerlies develop by midday.
High: 16

Nelson
Sunny with light southwesterlies in the morning, afternoon northerlies.
Highs: 18-19

Marlborough
Sunny with light winds tending northerly in the afternoon.
Highs: 21-22

Canterbury
Sunny with some high cloud, light northeasterlies near the coast and winds tend northwest inland.
Highs: 17-20

West Coast
Sunny areas and some cloud with southwesterly breezes. Showers develop about Fiordland this morning with northwesterly winds and hang round much of the day.

Coastal Otago
Sunny with some high cloud, northwesterly breezes.
High: 20

Southland & Central Otago
Sunny with some high cloud, northwesterly winds strong in the afternoon about Southland.
