A moist north to northwest flow is forecast to cover much of the country over the next few days. An active front embedded in this flow is expected to move slowly east over the upper South Island and North Island during Saturday and Sunday, bringing heavy rain to Mt Taranaki, the Tasman Mountains and the Richmond Range with accumulations of 130mm, but 150mm about the higher slopes of Mt Taranaki.
