We've not had the volume of rain that was expected, but it is raining steadily at the moment, but it has gone calm - wind has dropped completely to nothing at 6 am,  the trees and bush are are still and not moving at all for the first time in probably 5 days.

Yeah, a little less rain than expected. Howick has had 24 mm in the past 24 hours.
Average wind speed is finally down around the 5 km/h mark  :)

Now on 10 consecutive days without rain although I see from the forecast this could alter tonight.

Currently a mild 14.6°C but overcast and dull.

Rain has eluded us to a large extent 19.8 mm in past 24 hours, there's just a puff of breeze now.
Actually also looking a bit brighter too.

I see your YTD is about 522 mm, is that around normal?
Despite the recent rain we've been having, we're still about 200 mm down on YTD average here in Waitakere.
