Northland to Waitomo, including Coromandel, Bay of Plenty, Taupo, Taumarunui
Showers, some heavy with hail. Clearing from the south tonight and overnight, however showers persisting about Northland.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Periods of rain, with a few heavy falls and snow to about 500 metres tonight and overnight. Showers tomorrow.

Taranaki to Wellington, also Wairarapa and Taihape
Showers, some heavy with hail and snow to about 500 metres tonight and tomorrow morning.

Nelson, Buller and Westland
Fine tonight. Cloudy periods tomorrow, with brief showers.

Marlborough and Canterbury
Mainly fine inland, but showers near the coast. Widespread rain for a time overnight or tomorrow morning, with snow to about 400 metres. Icy conditions inland.

Otago, Southland and Fiordland
Showers, falling as snow above 600 metres tonight and overnight. Icy conditions inland.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods, with one or two showers.
