I checked out Weather Station Accessories - Aercus, Monax Test and Weather
They list the 1/2/3 series transmitters separately so it looks like each series is a tad different.
(sorta makes sense in hindsight & ties in with what JL said)

While on this side of the ditch Scientific Sales/Electronics World lump the 1/2 series transmitters together.
All a bit of a Bummer really!

Have ordered a WS1093 console, to replace the WS1081.

Better to be safe than sorry, I think!

I still have a set of replacement sensors that I could use as well!

The WS1093 was up and running in no time. So, all good there. Sensors talking with it no trouble.

Console is powered entirely off the PC via the USB cable! Will need to get some batteries, just in case!
