Waitomo to Wellington, including the central high country and Wairarapa
Periods of rain, with some heavy falls, clearing north of Taranaki this afternoon and easing to scattered showers elsewhere.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
High cloud with scattered rain developing.

Nelson and Marlborough
Scattered showers, clearing for a time this morning.

Buller and Westland
Showers, mainly north of Hokitika.

Canterbury
Mainly fine, however, a few showers possible this morning and evening.

Otago
Scattered showers clearing this morning.

Fiordland and Southland
Showers, snow to 400 metres, clearing from Southland this afternoon and snow lifting in Fiordland.

Chatham Islands
