Waikato and Waitomo, also Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Mainly fine, but isolated afternoon and evening showers, especially from Bay of Plenty to the central high country where some could be heavy.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Scattered showers, especially about the ranges.

Taranaki to Wellington
Fine.

Coastal Marlborough, the Canterbury coast and Plains, also coastal Otago and Southland
Patchy drizzle or mist, but fine spells for a time in the afternoon.

For the remainder of the South Island
Mostly fine, but isolated afternoon and evening showers about the ranges.

Chatham Islands
Occasional rain or drizzle.
