Cumulus Settings Help
« on: January 25, 2015, 01:30:20 AM »
If you do a second post you can add 2 more :)

Gee what happened to your dew point 1st January.
You can fix that by going into:

Edit - Dayfile.txt
Scroll along and find, then replace it.

Ok Jen Thanks its new to me

Ok my first comments are

Under WU settings, tick 'Send Average Wind'

Under the realtime upload frequency.

Untick 'Enable Realtime'
You are not using it.

As always when changes are made.
File - Exit - Count to 10 and start Cumulus back up.

Ok thats a start, I will check through the rest later. I sat up watching tennis last night so a late start for me this morning :)

The next step would be to go through your dayfile. Its only a few weeks worth so not too bad.
Clean up those spikes.

Edit - Dayfile.txt

As with that dewpoint low or high.
Just look at the figure for the day before or the day after. Use that as a guide line and change the wrong one.

As far as rain rate goes, I would probably just put 0.0.

Rainfall, keep a watch. You can change this also in the dayfile but also if it spikes during the day, you can change it under:
Edit - Todays Rain.

Once you have cleaned up the last few weeks, then just keep a watch. If you have another spike. Tidy it up next day and this way you will stay on top of it.

Hi Jen

I have the cumulus set up to upload to the internet via Meteobridge WH-WUSO2  http://weerhuisje.nl/index.php?item=&action=article&group_id=10000059&aid=11563&lang=EN

Would there be away to get the weather station to put the info on the computer without the USB pluged in and getting a wifi signal to run it all the time?

Alas no Martin.
The console is not wireless. It needs to be plugged into the laptop or PC with a USB cable.
What you could do though is buy a longer USB cable or an extension USB cable.

Then you can move your laptop back to the couch, running the cable around the room and under the chair :)

Thats a shame but thanks

Of course the other solution is to save your pennies and buy a cheapo second hand small laptop for the Weather Station.

Cumulus takes very little to run on. There are lots of cheap winXP laptops out there. That would do the trick.

Martin I finally had time to go through your settings. Sorry for the delay.
Ok screen attached.

I would tick Synchronise station clock.

Under Program settings
Tick both Confirm shut down and
Stop second instance.
Both these are safe guard stuff.

You are logging every minute. Possibly an over kill. 10 minutes or 15 is probably enough for what you are doing.

Put your correct latitude and long in

N  51   2   7
W 3  5   9

Ok thats that page done :)

Next is display settings.

Put the name of your station up top.
Taunton Weather.

Untick Show Current Conditions box. You are not using it.

On the right tick
Plot latest Gust
and
Independent Graphs window.
You are not using these but may later.

Down bottom, put in the Station Name and model.

and thats that one done :)

and the last one:
Internet settings.

I dont think you need that enable realtime ticked.
Untick that.

Now weather Underground settings.
See the attached.
Tick them all including that rapid fire.
I also would step up the interval from 15 to 10 minutes as this is your main upload.

Cheers now
