Secure FTP and Cumulus
« on: January 18, 2016, 09:43:31 PM »
Now that I've finally got around the Windows 10 date format issue and got my pws back up and running in Weather Underground, I'm real keen to get the station up on my own domain.

Trouble is my webhost uses SFTP, Cumulus does not support it. There is a fix or work around but this grey matter just cannot get his head around it!

HELP!

Is there someone around the Auckland area that could walk me through it? I'd be happy to pay for the time.

Web space isn't an issue.

Hi Richard,
I guess first thing is that you would save your Cumulus file to your local disk and then use a free program such as WinSCP to upload it to your web server as a scheduled task.

As a starting point have a look https://winscp.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4929 which talks about creating a batch file for the task manager to run. The example may be of help.

I'm buried in the middle of the South Island so unable to physically assist you, but go to the winscp site and download the program and have a play. You can login to your website and load your file manually. Then it's a matter of automating it!

regards

Cheap Web Hosting Service & Domain Registration - WebHostingPad

Have been with them for a while and have two sites hosted there. A lot cheaper than a local host.
