Hi

I am pretty sure on my old computer (which was running Windows 10) I ran WD on standard local account.  On the new Windows 10 computer I cannot see any of my settings in the control panel unless I start WD from an account with admin rights.  I am running ver 10.37s69

Can someone please confirm if we need to run it with admin or know of a way to fix this issue?

Hi

I'm fairly sure it needs to be run as Admin. I recall seeing that somewhere in the install instructions, but at work, so can't check for you.

Cheers

Sorry @choc-a-holic - I am still running mine on XP LOL!  I think because it uses the Registry directly for settings, then it would have to have that level of privileges.

Thank you for confirming this for me.  I would love to know why it needs admin priviledge as we try to run computers without being logged into admin all the time as it increases security issues.
