Observation: Fine all day today but it was quite cloudy at times, especially this morning and threatened to rain a couple of times but nothing eventuated. More Sun and less cloud this afternnon and reasonably warm despite the persistent SW breeze that seemed to be stronger than the max Gust of 46km at 12:55pm. Actually managed to get the whole property (lawns and orchard) mown this afternoon.

Cloudy and sunny areas today with breezy west to southwest winds, the odd brief shower may pass through at times also. Bay Of Plenty remaining largely dry for today. Mostly sunny with some cloud in Gisborne, a few showers possible about the ranges late afternoon and evening then clearing.
 HIGHS: 19-20 for most today
 
Lower North Island
 
Cloudy and sunny areas today with breezy west to southwest winds, the odd brief shower may pass through at times also. Mostly sunny with some cloud in Hawkes Bay, a few showers possible about the ranges late afternoon and evening then clearing.
 
Any morning showers clear in Wellington then sunny areas increase, northwesterlies freshen by evening. A few showers develop in the morning about Wairarapa with southerly breezes, expect dry periods also. Any remaining showers clear in the evening with northwesterlies developing.
 HIGHS: 16-17 for most. 19-20 about Hawkes Bay however.
 
Upper South Island
 
Cloudy areas on the West Coast with westerly breezes, the odd shower at times. Mostly sunny in Nelson, light west to southwest breezes. Mostly sunny in Marlborough with any early coastal showers clearing, low risk of a late afternoon shower about the Kaikoura ranges ranges. Mostly sunny in Canterbury with light winds after morning cloud breaks up, northeasterly breezes develop after midday. Low risk of a few brief afternoon showers in Canterbury.
 HIGHS: 18-19 about Nelson and Marlborough. Mid teens on the West Coast, 16-17 in Canterbury.
 
Lower South Island
 
Cloudy on the West Coast south of the Glaciers with showers developing in the morning, rain from evening with increasing northerlies. Some increasing high cloud about Otago and Southland with light winds, northeasterly breezes near the coast in Otago. Chance of a shower about eastern Otago and Southland late afternoon.
HIGHS: 16-17 about Southland and Otago, 14-15 on the West Coast south of the Glaciers.
