Observation: Another very Warm and Sunny day today but there was generally quite a bit more cloud around and early evening they were heavy enough to drop just a few drops of precipitation. Today's wind cycle was a threepeat of the last two days, started off in the SW then as the day warmed swung throuh West to a Northerly Sea Breeze and then back through East and south to SW again this evening. Shorts and tee shirt again today but the track pants, slippers and Polar Fleece are back on this evening.
Current Recordings: Temp: 12.5c Going down, Humidty 99%, Rain: 0.0 mm, Average Wind Speed (10 Mins) 1 km/h SSW, Pressure 1015.3 hPa Rising.

Indigo Festival goers may have to dodge raindrops
«

Hamilton’s Indigo Festival starts Thursday. The annual celebration is in its 13th year and showcases the city’s multicultural community.
Fest goers have an opportunity to experience a wide range of music, art and traditions from the different cultures found in the diverse city.
Fest goers may also want to bring a brolly along.
WeatherWatch.co.nz Forecaster Howard Joseph says an area of high pressure that is expected to keep our weather fairly settled through early next week will lose its grip on our weather by Thursday, the first day of the fest.
Mr Joseph says "If that happens, it would set up a frontal boundary across the central North Island that would move slowly north. That would bring precipitation chances to Hamilton and the fest on Thursday." Mr. Joseph adds that the chances will be better during the later part of Thursday.
On Friday, the front will be to our north. But, Mr Joseph says the broad southwest flow behind the front would likely bring windy, cooler and somewhat rainy conditions.
The last day of the fest, Saturday, should also have the best weather. High pressure is expected to be centred just off to our northwest. That should give it a bit more control of our weather which in turn should dry things about Hamilton. Although some breezy conditions are expected to remain in place.

A couple of fronts move on through
«
Reply #14 on:
November 24, 2012, 12:42:42 AM »
A front moved over the lower South Island last night and has continued northwards today weakening considerably as it has moved northwards, not much has come of this front apart from a few showers and a wind change for a time bringing some cloud in the South Island.
Meanwhile a second front is about to move onto the lower South Island now, this front is forecast to even be a bit weaker yet again so it will not affect our weather too much apart from some cloud and shifty wind directions mainly in the South Island. Southland however is likely to receive a few more showers then most.
Scattered showers have popped up again over parts of the North Island mainly about Northland, Waikato and inland Bay Of Plenty across to some ranges in Hawkes Bay and Gisborne. Storms haven’t managed to fire like they did yesterday over the Central North Island but there is still some time left in the day so still something to watch.
The most rain for the previous 24 hours has come from those storms yesterday about the CNI, up to 14mm fell in some stations. It is quite likely that more rain then this fell in some other isolated areas. Winds have not been exceptionally strong in any particular area today. The warmest temperatures go to Blenheim on 26 degrees and then in the North Island, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne on 23-24 degrees.
