Mainly fine. Brief showers about Coromandel this morning, and isolated showers about Northland and western Bay of Plenty from afternoon.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Mostly cloudy with scattered showers at first, but fine spells developing this afternoon.

Wairarapa, also Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Becoming fine, with remaining showers about coastal Wairarapa and the Kaikoura Coast clearing this morning.

Otago and Southland
Fine.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Mainly fine, but a few showers in Buller during the morning and afternoon.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods, with a few showers until evening.
