Change Master Temperature gauge
« on: August 25, 2013, 11:38:11 AM »
I have two temperature gauges on my WMR200 - the master temperature gauge which is used in all the reporting and on this website has packed up, I am hoping I can switch the second gauge to replace the master gauge without upsetting the reporting used by my website, this website and others.

I had a look in WD and there is an option under Control Panel - Station Types and Settings - Oregon Scientific- WMR 200 USB to set the outdoor temp sensor number.

Before I make the change I just wanted to check that I am doing the right thing.

Thank you Brian....that has worked :)

Now I have to work out if it is stuffed for good.  I have changed the batteries 3 times in the last month, however the device fails shortly after replacing the batteries.  I can reset the weather station and it does find the gauge but it loses connection within 48 hours.  I cannot put it down to it being winter and cold which is draining the batteries because it really has not been cold at all this winter.  It is not distance because it has worked fine for the last 4 years in this position and is only 10 metres from the sensor.  The second temperature gauge has been sitting in the same Stevenson Screen for a while now and it hasn't missed a beat.  One other thing to note, I have lost the connection to the rain gauge a few times over the last 4 months...a reset has fixed this quickly.

Any ideas?  Might be time to buy another gauge or it could be the controller slowly having a meltdown.  I have had the station running since October 2008
