Tokoroa - 7:25am

It appears we went negative but only just to -0.9deg but now sitting just positive at 0.6deg!  A steady 5k/hr sou-easter out there.  Mainly cloudy skies - a thin layer of broken cumulus, then some high level haze and some more CU over the far hills to the west.

Clear blue sky, overnight low -04 and a very light frost here. Make the most of the day considering the forecast for the next day or so. Time to plant the strawberrys spring is not too far away.

Still a cool 6.5°C in Waitakere, up from the low of 5.6°C - was pretty clear this morning when we left for work, plenty of bright stars visible our way but could see it was cloudy of central Auckland at the time (and still is).

surprisingly cold here, but then that will be due to all the cold air still originating from the southerly out to the east of the NI instead of from the system to our north

Port Robinson 9.50am.
Yet another grey overcast day........... Temperature 6.6° and unlikey to get a lot warmer. predicted high is 9° but will probably be the same as yesterday and limp up just another degree. The firewood stack is getting a hammering. No wind to speak of but what there is is from the SE. There's been 0.2mm of drizzle with the chance of more.

Tokoroa - 6:15pm

4.9deg outside, just 12.9deg inside - no fires yet, empty house all day.  A high of 10.8ºC today.
5-25km/hr sou-easterly nearly all day, a wriggle to NE from 3 to 4:30 and back again... a. Not a bad day considering.

We now have a fire going, and a small fan heater in the 10m long living room (3m stud)... temp has risen to 13.2ºC inside :)

Partly cloudy becoming mostly cloudy later in the day for Waitakere, with a little light drizzly rain wetting the roads around 4.30 but first rain actually recorded nearer 6.30 pm - expecting more.
High today here of 12.2°C, currently 9.2°C

Monday’s national forecast
« Reply #18 on: July 02, 2012, 07:48:15 PM »
An anticyclone to the east of New Zealand is slowly moving away while a northeasterly airflow increases over both islands.

Cloud can be expected in many eastern places with northeasterly breezes, mostly sunny weather often in inland areas of both Islands and Southland. The West Coast of the South Island and Nelson can expect mostly sunny weather to continue with light winds. There may be some drizzle at times during the day along the East Coast of the North Island, areas of rain in Northland spread into Auckland later at night as northeasterlies freshen there.

Temperatures will range from the mid teens in Northland and Auckland down to high single figures about Southland and Otago, a pleasant 12 to 13 degrees can be expected about Greymouth and Hokitika however.
