Fine, apart from isolated showers in western areas from Waitomo to Kapiti Coast.

Nelson, Marlborough except the Kaikoura Coast
Fine apart from a few showers in Nelson this afternoon.

Kaikoura Coast, Canterbury
Mainly fine. However, showers about the Alps and a few developing south of Banks Peninsula.

Buller, Westland, Fiordland, Southland
Brief heavy and thundery rain spreading northwards this morning and afternoon, followed by showers, some squally with thunderstorms and hail about the south coast.

Otago
Brief morning rain followed by a few showers, however showers more frequent and heavy about Clutha.

Chatham Islands
Fine spells and a few showers.
