Isolated showers, becoming confined to the ranges by this afternoon and fine spells increasing elsewhere.

Wanganui to Wellington, also Wairarapa
Fine, apart from morning cloud. Showers developing this evening with a strong southerly change.

Nelson, Buller and Westland
Showers, possibly thundery, clearing this morning and fine spells increasing.

Marlborough and Canterbury
Becoming fine this morning. However, showers spreading north during the afternoon with a strong southerly change.

Otago, Southland and Fiordland
A period of rain this morning, then fine increasing spells.
