Wanganui and Taihape to Wellington, also Wairarapa
Rain, possibly heavy, easing to showers in Wellington and Wairarapa in the afternoon and clearing elsewhere. Snow for the Desert Road from evening. Southeasterlies, gale in exposed places for a time.

Buller, Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury
Rain, with heavy falls for Marlborough and Nelson. Snow to 600 metres in Marlborough. Rain clearing in the morning, but a few showers linger about the Kaikoura Coast.
