Wairoa.

Whoa, have I been returned to Christchurch under cover of darkness. Frost this morning that brought back the childhood memories. So cold, but the sun came out and temperature is now sitting on 17 outside. The cat is the clever one, asleep in the sun.
No wind.

The attached has been sent in from Poto along Mahia Beach.
He reckons he has never seen the front of the beach covered in frost as it was this morning. He also told me:
"Weather patterns are changing and so is marine life. I counted 36 seals just walking half way round Mokotahi at low tide . Included was a large NZ fur seal .
There is never more than a dozen seals sheltering during the worst sea conditions. In fact one was sitting on a well known residents verandah in Taylors Bay . He had to use a broom to get it out onto his lawn."
