Late again. Painting all day. Finished the windows and doors, tomorrow its the walls.
The day was sunny and the wind from the east. Not sure what the temperature was but it wasn't that hot.

MINI TORNADO in Opotiki??
I heard a couple of reports yesterday that we had a mini tornado through town last monday afternoon.
I'm told it sorta wafted northwards up Church Street (our main street) early afternoon, no damage, but some shop street signs were blown some 20/30 feet northwards. Observations were that it sounded like a train??
(To my knowledge we have never had trains here

)

It seemed odd at the time, but I was up to my ears in a tricky data doofa & couldn't stop to check it out.
I do recall an unusual wind gust period at work roughly around 2/2.30 pm (I think), for some 45 odd seconds, wind direction outside work I thought was easterly with quite a loud roaring sound. Unusual for our neck of the woods & our street/building orientation probably had a big effect on my limited observation.

Monday saw us feeling some effects of the tail end of TC Pam, though pretty well sheltered by the ranges to the south & east. In general, we had a gusty morning but a reasonably calm afternoon.
Our streets are pretty much true North /South & East/West.

well our Solar Eclips was not that bad did see a bit with my glasses on but it was freezing though then the sun came out and it was a beautiful day but very fresh 8.1c now but it top 12c in the day
