Fine, apart from isolated afternoon and evening showers north of Auckland city and also about Gisborne ranges.

Remainder of the North Island, also Marlborough, Nelson and Buller
Mainly fine. A few showers about Buller tonight.

Westland
Rain spreading north this morning, with some heavy and thundery falls.

Canterbury
Fine at first. High cloud increasing this afternoon and a few showers developing south of Christchurch.

Otago and Southland
Scattered rain at times, especially in northern Otago, clearing everywhere tonight.

Fiordland
Rain, with some heavy falls, gradually easing this afternoon.
