January, 2015, New Plymouth

Very sunny, very dry, somewhat warmer than normal, mostly because daily maxima were higher than normal.
Mean temperature for the month was 19.2 degrees. Mean maximum was 24.5 degrees, mean daily minimum was 13.9 degrees.
Highest temperature was 30 degrees (twice) and lowest was 9 degrees.
Rain fell on 4 days, giving a total of 10.2mm.
My sources: Daily Met Service figures for New Plymouth (not the airport) and my own old fashioned rain gauge.
My rainfall figures align with the nearby Regional Council stations. The airport had a major rainfall event where over 42mm fell in a few hours, but this was very localised.( The calculations of totals and means done by me, so no blame attached to Met Service.)
