Western areas from Auckland down to Wellington, also Bay of Plenty, the central high country and Wairarapa
Mainly fine, apart from a few areas of morning cloud, persisting from Waikato to Taranaki.

Gisborne and Hawkes Bay
Cloud increasing this morning, with isolated light showers mainly about the ranges.

Fiordland
Rain developing this morning, with some heavy falls possible.

The remainder of the South Island
Mainly fine. High cloud increasing from Canterbury southwards this morning, with patchy light rain developing in Southland from late morning and spreading into Clutha tonight.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods.
