Showers, mainly coastal Hawkes Bay southwards, clearing south of Napier this morning, and elsewhere this afternoon.

Nelson, Marlborough and Canterbury
Fine with early morning frosts.

Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Fine at first, with early morning frosts inland. Rain developing in Fiordland this evening, and patchy drizzle in Westland tonight.

Otago and Southland
Mainly fine, with early morning frosts. Scattered rain developing in the west and about Stewart Island tonight.

Chatham Islands
Showers, some heavy with hail, clearing this morning.
