The North Island, from Taranaki, Taihape and Hawkes Bay northwards
Fine and cloudy periods. Scattered showers, mainly inland in the afternoon and evening. A few localised heavy falls and thunderstorms are expected, mainly in the west from Waitomo to the southern parts of Auckland.

Wanganui to Wellington, also Wairarapa
Mainly fine.

Marlborough, Nelson, Buller and northern Westland
Cloudy areas. Isolated afternoon and evening showers inland.

Canterbury, Otago, southern Westland and northern Fiordland
Mostly fine. However, a few showers about the North Canterbury ranges this afternoon, and cloud increasing about the Canterbury Plains during the evening.

Southern Fiordland and Southland
Cloudy areas. A few light showers near the south coast.

Chatham Islands
Cloudy periods and a few morning showers.
