Waikato to northern Taranaki, including Taumarunui and Taupo
Showers becoming isolated this afternoon with fine spells developing.

Southern Taranaki and Taihape to Wellington
Occasional showers, clearing south of Wanganui this evening.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Showers about the ranges. Mainly fine elsewhere, however a few showers this afternoon or evening. Westerly gales for central Hawkes Bay and the Tararua District easing early this morning.

Buller, Westland
Rain, with heavy falls, easing this morning then clearing from the south today.

Nelson, Marlborough
Rain in the west, clearing this morning. Isolated showers late this afternoon and evening.

Canterbury, Otago, Southland
Scattered showers, gradually clearing today.
