The Passing of George Merriman (hbweather)
« on: September 15, 2014, 11:16:30 AM »
This is definitely a post I did not want to have to make

Our George past away last week after battling with prostrate cancer for going on 7 years.  For new members who did not know George, George logged in under the user name of ‘hbweather’ and he lived in Napier.

George had been part of our weather forum for many years and had a neat sense of humour.
George sold his weather station last year as this weather hobby became too much. His weather station now resides in Pukehou, Otane and our members Hotcop and Smudge look after it.

Jill, George’s partner, is sending up bits and pieces plus books. Once I know what we have hopefully we can find homes for them.  George had suggested we could auction them for the forum, you guys can decide.

I met with George last year after years of online correspondence. It was a privilege to have known our hbweather, a gentle and caring man. Rest now George, no more pain.
