SteelGauges
« on: August 25, 2013, 04:17:01 PM »
In the quest to find a way to present my weather station data on devices that cannot use Adobe Flash I have setup SteelGauges - http://www.worldsouroyster.com/cms/weather/mahana-weather-uses-java.  The intention is to have this page as an iframe page within my website but I am having issues with iframe on my Joomla config so will solve that another day.

One of the things I found the hardest was reading through the long threads on the forums and the wiki to find out how to set this all up.  I have created a document to help others achieve this more easily.  Hopefully you find it helpful.  Oh and if you find errors do let me know!

I would love to use linear graphs for my temperature and rain readings but that is another learning curve for another day.

Thanks Andrew.  Whilst the iframe config says to use the steelgauges.html file it is opening the WDL iframe instead.  I tried doing it two ways...via menu option iframe and imbedding the iframe info into an article and I get the same result.  I haven't looked for this issue on the Joomla website yet.  I will look to see what it says in the database tomorrow as well.  There will be a solution I am sure :)

All mine are setup via the menu item. What happens when you save the menu item, and then go back in - does it show correctly?

I have solved the problem...the menu item was a sub menu item of weather - If you clicked on weather it would take you to WDL using iframe or if you hovered you would get a whole list of menu options.  I changed weather to be a txt separator menu type instead and now it works!  Thanks for the offer of assistance it is much appreciated Andrew :)

I will update the link above.
