Severe Weather Warning
for DAMAGING WIND AND SURF
for Norfolk Island.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system about 500 km to the south-southeast from the Island is
moving rapidly towards New Zealand.
Damaging winds averaging up to 35 knots (65 km/h) with peak gusts up to 50
knots (93 km/h).
Very heavy surf which may lead to localised damage and coastal erosion is
forecast for southwest facing coastal parts.
The Norfolk Island Police advise that you:
* Stay indoors away from windows and keep children indoors.
- * Stay out of the water and stay well away from surf-exposed areas.
