Wednesday's Forecast - Slight Improvement.
« on: May 29, 2013, 10:51:09 AM »
Wednesday.

A bitterly cold southwesterly flow eases today as a weak high ridges from the Tasman Sea.

Further heavy showers will affect northern Hawkes Bay and southern Gisborne this morning, but these should move offshore around the middle of the day. There is a continuing low risk of thunderstorms about this area through the morning, but if any storms do develop they are probably more likely offshore.
Cloudy periods. Scattered light showers, mainly about the coast for Southland, Clutha and Fiordland.
Metservice.

Remaining snow flurries about the central North Island and southern Wairarapa hills are expected to turn to sleet this morning and slowly clear. Snow flurries have eased about Banks Peninsula and cleared from the hills of Christchurch.
