Ok - we all do it - that is go round and spot weather stations. I don't do it on purpose but I can't help spotting weather stations when I'm going for a walk around the streets, or further afield.

So where is the weirdest place you have seen a weather station?

I'll kick it off with one (a Vantage Vue) that sits next to the Paekakariki  Hill Road. Those that know this road will remember that towards the top there is a mast full of aerials. It's very high and if you are brave enough to stop, the view is fantastic out over the Marlborough Sounds, Kapiti and out towards Nelson etc. It must get hammered with the NW up there. - and yes sure enough on top of that mast is a Vantage Vue

Anyone else spotted some stations in weird places. Photographic evidence is encouraged ;-)

On top of the new World Trade Centre building.

I was on the way to Hamner last summer and came across this Met Service station.
The thing that got me was that it was on a concrete pad with black bark all around the out side of this. The main road was only 2metres away on the east side of it.( the prevailing wind is from the east over the road).
 Makes me think they trying to make it read warmer.
