Observation: Well it's dark outside but at least it is not raining and the Wind has dropped which is nice and stops the key from rattling in the caravan door and keeping me awake. Bit more Nippy on the Pippy tonight though than it has been of late, time to cuddle up in a nice warm bed me thinks.

Invercargill 0637hrs.
The much vaunted wind storm hasnt really made a appearence as of yet with the max wind so far only just making NW 50kph. Invercargill appears to be getting some shelter from Fiordland as wind stays NW at the moment as only 0.2mm of rain has fallen. Thunder can be heard to the South but this looking at rain radar is passing through off the coast. Once the wind turns W to SW im sure this will change. Current temp 3.0c

Plenty of clear sky about in Waitakere, bit still occasional showers - we've had 2.8 mm rain since midnight, though nothing for a couple of hours.
Overnight low was 8°C now up to 10.5°C - forecast high is just 12°C and while it could be quite sunny at times I think there could be plenty of shower activity coming through.

Sorry, that figure is what WXSIM has produced for me on this morning's run at 5 am.
MetService are forecasting a high of 14 deg for Waitakere, and15 deg for Auckland today.
