Scattered showers, possibly heavy with a risk of thunderstorms and hail north of Hamilton from afternoon. Easing overnight in Northland, and clearing throughout tomorrow afternoon.

Waitomo to Whanganui, including Bay of Plenty and the central high country

Mainly fine, scattered afternoon and evening showers, possibly heavy today.

Gisborne, Hawke's Bay and Wairarapa

Showers becoming widespread this afternoon, with thunderstorms possible about the ranges. Easing to drizzle this evening.

Manawatu to Wellington

Fine spells increasing. A few showers for Wellington around midday tomorrow.

Marlborough, Canterbury , North Otago, and Dunedin

Periods of rain or drizzle.

Nelson, Buller, Westland, Fiordland, also Central Otago, Southland and Clutha

Isolated showers, but rain with heavy falls for Buller and northern Westland, until evening. Becoming fine everywhere early tomorrow.

Chatham Islands

Showers easing, clearing tomorrow morning.
