Is the map coming back online soon?

If not, I'll need to remove New Zealand network from the global networks since I can't collect the current conditions summary files.

Hi Ken @saratogaWX

Yes, we are working on bringing it back.
Our hosts recently moved our stuff to a new server & we have had the issue you see since then.

I have no probs running the map on localhost/opotikiweather so its something involved with the new server I think.

I think we have been moved over from cPanel to DirectAdmin but don't yet have instructions on how to access it.

If you wish, remove now & I/we can let you know when its back up & running.

Yep - working on it. Wolfie contacted me by email this evening. It has been working for me quite happily and I can see all the files being updated and my IP in the logs requesting the page successfully, so I think it's just an access error, somewhere along the way.

Hmmm. Thats what I thought.

- the refresh - did it do that before?

I fixed one issue - the error message. However now I just get a page without the map when I'm looking at the classic version.

Looks to me like everything else that is iframed on the site works fine, and the script is working fine in the background (ie the modern map works)

So my logic is currently towards one of the following. You might need to get your admin boots on to do them!!:
(a) Doing a maintenance tidy up of the site. This might include running the script to make sure all the directories are right
(b) Try creating a new link to the classic map, just temporarily. If that works it's something to do with the link. Delete the old link and recreate it.
(c) Next thing I think I would look at would be to go back to Ken and see if he can tell us what minimum requirements are for running the classic, or at least, is there a difference in requirements between running classic and modern. It might be that I have to configure the server / php so that the classic version runs ok.
(d) Finally, right now it's as if we all can't see the classic version. I can see it if I specifically allow my IP (I think). That's weird because if it's firewall normally that applies to the site and not a specific URL. I'm not seeing anything obvious in the error log on the site.

@saratogaWX Hi ;-) - I got rid of the maintenance script that was in place during the migration, so that will remove the error message. Can you check to see if you are now getting the feed back into the global network? Are you getting an error message now? If so what is it?

Also can you give any information on (d) above?

The new map version has not worked for me since the shift to new server, so . . . unsure, but seems to be updating now

Both maps are called from Simple Portal Block settings, and somewhere there is a way to check latest v current versions . . . unable to find it right now.
I need to check that out.

Yeah. Odd that its just one page. Seems to point to script. I wonder if a reinstall of the script would help but probably an extreme measure at this point. If there is an upgrade that might be useful to do.

and our current map works when called direct . . . New Zealand Local Weather Network - Current Conditions . . . but not within the forum

Just in case the server was updated to PHP7+, I've sent you (via email) a new mesomap and loadcache script that works with PHP7 or PHP8.

Attempted to modify the map block under SimplePortal . . .
and now we have the map showing at the foot of our main page, huh

Forgot to add, tried to find how to check/change the menu options for the map . . . running around in circles so gave up

Ken (SaratogaWX) has provided update scripts for load cache & NZWn2, have uploaded same along with updated map images & cc.txt files.

Kens latest should allow us to cope with PHP 7.1 to 8.x. Working perfectly in my localhost & Opoweather site.
