In the west from Waikato to Kapiti, including Taumarunui and Taihape
Fine apart from areas of cloud.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay, Wairarapa, also Wellington and Marlborough
Cloudy periods. A few showers developing this morning, clearing from Wairarapa, Wellington and Marlborough during the afternoon.

Nelson, Buller, Westland and Fiordland
Mainly fine. Isolated showers in the ranges of Nelson and Buller.

Canterbury, Otago and Southland
Areas of cloud and a few showers, clearing from the south this morning and fine breaks developing.

Chatham Islands
