Observation for 17th December 2012:  Today started with some light rain and drizzle around 6am then settled down to a heavily overcast and quite humid day with the occasional passing sprinkle or just a few spots of precipitation although there were some pretty serious looking periods of rain for the Kaimai’s and South towards Rotorua .  Light breezes today mainly from the North to East but occasionally from the NW, very similar conditions have continued into the evening.
