13.1 degrees, has been a cloudy windy day with the wind from the NW gusting up to 40 kph, managed to get some work done outside but the wind did not help.
At least the ground is starting to dry out  and hopefully we won't get to much rain from the incoming fronts

Ground starting to dry out here also after a few sunny days but I see rain is forecast for this area and hence we will head back to square one.
We have had very little rain this month - 53mm tis all. I dont get why the ground is so boggy.
Just not drying up I guess with far too many overcast days.

The North Island is in for a fairly settled day today.  A few showers will be possible about the Bay of Plenty and East Cape/Northern Gisborne thanks to the onshore flow that will be developing.  The best chance for that will be during the late afternoon and early evening.  A few showers are also possible about Wellington and Taranaki today.

Otherwise, the NI should be dry.  Both Auckland and Hamilton can expect a mix of sun and clouds.

The majority of the rain will fall on the South Island’s West Coast and Nelson regions.  Rain has been falling around Westport this morning and will continue to do so throughout the day.  Some heavy rain is expected.  Government forecaster MetService has heavy rain warnings in effect for the ranges of Buller and Westland north Otira/Arthurs Pass.

Christchurch may see a few showers this morning.  Dunedin should have a dry and settled day with a a mix of sun and clouds.

As of 1:00pm today, Christchurch and Darfield reported a temperature of 20.  Those were the hottest spots in all of New Zealand.  They were also the sunniest.

Matamata, Dunedin and Napier were all at 18.  Hamilton was 17.  Auckland and Gisborne were at 16.  The coolest temperatures were found at Nelson, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Queenstown and Wellington…all report 14 early this afternoon.  Plenty of clouds were to be found about these areas as well.

There was also some rain in few spots about Aotearoa.  Most of the precipitation was confined to the north-western corner of the South Island.  Both Nelson and Westport reported rain at Noon today.
