Record low temperatures were shattered in Orlando and Daytona Beach overnight after a cool front moved through the area.
According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne the temperature dipped to 64 degrees at Orlando International Airport, shattering the previous record of 66 set in 1920.
Daytona Beach also set a new record-low temperature when the mercury dipped to 64 degrees. The previous record of 67 was set in 1950.
"To break a record by two to three degrees is a pretty substantial event," said forecaster Randy Lascody.
The cooler weather was a product of Tropical Storm Debby that left the state as a tropical depression Wednesday
