It has taken all day to get around to it but finally had a short dumping at 64.8mm/hr, probably the precursor for more.

lots of lightning off Tutukaka Coast at present - looks like Grant at Russell would have got a good show earlier

really lightning active CB went right over me here at 4:30am, lightning every 30 seconds and got real close too
a bit of hail, 2mm/minute rain rate, 10mm total from the squall
me lucky...I knew it would be my turn next, LOL
