Description: This is a bitterly cold mountain wave coming down during an SE anticyclone in September last year. The wind chill off them is a shocker and they can kick off storms as well. This year the waves are far bigger and we're having Cirrus explosions and very cold waves from the Cirrus now as well.

| April 14, 2014, 11:07:43 PM Thanks Jenny. It is a scary thing to be facing as our Climate is rapidly changing now. We are way out in front of the rest of the country insofar as Climate Change goes and well ahead of predications. It is because we are 100% orographic in Paekakariki that we are affected at such an early stage. NIWA will be out here at some stage to give us the verdict of how long we've got left. It is depressing when people still deny CC, they want to try it out for themselves, it isn't pleasant. We get weird and wonderful weather stuff now, so I'll pick up a few of the nasty polar updraft storms in winter with my camera this winter. |
