Description: Sculptor galaxy NGC 253:
The sculptor galaxy or silver coin galaxy is a popular deep sky object and clearly visible in a small telescope and even visible in binoculars. It’s about 8 million light years away, which is pretty close in galactic terms.
Image details: William Optics Megrez 90 refractor (unguided) on HEQ5mount, Canon 1000D camera attached to William optics 0.8x field flattener, shutter timer remote used to mange exposure times and numbers, ISO 800, 6 x 3minute subs stacked in deep sky stacker. Seeing was good but slightly breezy and ageing moon was still bright.
