Northland and Auckland
Cloudy periods. Isolated showers, mainly near the coast.

Waikato to Manawatu, including Coromandel Peninsula, Bay of Plenty and the central high country
Mainly fine, apart from morning frosts or fog in sheltered places.

Gisborne, Hawkes Bay and Wairarapa
Cloudy periods at first, with a few light showers north of Wairoa. Fine tomorrow.

Horowhenua, Kapiti and Wellington
Fine at first. Cloud increasing tomorrow and a few showers developing.

Nelson, Marlborough, Canterbury and North Otago
Fine with high cloud.

Central Otago, Dunedin, Clutha and Southland
Often cloudy, with scattered rain. Northwest gales in exposed places tomorrow night.

Buller and Westland
Showers, turning to heavy rain south of the Glaciers tomorrow.

Fiordland
Rain becoming persistent and heavy overnight.

Chatham Islands
A few showers at first, becoming mainly fine tomorrow.
